Dejan Kulusevski has offered Tottenham Hotspur supporters a much-needed boost amid ongoing fears over his long-term fitness, sharing a positive update from his recovery journey on social media.
The Swedish international has been sidelined for over a year with a complicated cartilage injury and was recently omitted from Sweden’s World Cup squad. Concerns grew even further after Sweden’s team doctor admitted the injury remains difficult to manage due to the constant stress placed on the affected area, even expressing uncertainty when asked if Kulusevski would play again.
However, there are now encouraging signs of progress. After recently posting footage of himself jogging outdoors, the 26-year-old has taken another important step forward. Kulusevski shared a new video on Instagram showing himself training with the ball and practicing shots on goal, suggesting his rehabilitation is moving in the right direction ahead of pre-season.
While the update will lift spirits around Tottenham, uncertainty still surrounds his return. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has previously described Kulusevski as an ideal fit for his style of play, but the lengthy absence and unpredictable nature of the injury mean Spurs cannot afford to rely on him in the short term.
As a result, Tottenham are still expected to strengthen their attacking options this summer, with the club likely planning for next season under the assumption that Kulusevski may not be available during the opening months of the campaign.
