Tierney: โHeโs lost. I just canโt defend him anymoreโฆ Iโm sorryโฆ I have been an Anthony Volpe supporterโฆ I can no longer support him, and based on what heโs done as a player, I can no longer believe in this ceiling that weโre hoping magically appearsโฆ I will always be an Anthony Volpe fan, meaning Iโm rooting for himโฆ His fate very well might be tied into eventually going to play second base for a small market.โ
Volpeโs Background
Volpe was picked in the 1st round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
In addition to being a highly touted prospect, he is from New Jersey (which made for a great story that fans got behind).
That said, Volpe has had an up-and-down tenure with New York.

Joe Randazzo: โBrian Cashman wouldnโt give a family member the leeway he has given Anthony Volpe. Itโs getting sad at this point. Not sure why the Yankees have to keep forcing this.โ
Gary Sheffield Jr.: โVolpeโs exit velocity could go thru a school zone safelyโ
@yankeesondeck_: โSend Volpe down. Keep Schuemann up.โ
