“💥 THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER: The Eagles Just Delivered the A.J. Brown News Cowboys Fans Have Been Desperately Waiting For — The Emotional Update That Could Completely Reshape the NFC East Rivalry”

The Eagles can start fresh, and the Cowboys don’t have to worry about A.J. Brown anymore.

It’s finally happened, Dallas Cowboys fans.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has been traded to the New England Patriots for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick that is the better of New England’s two fifths. This has been a move that has been in the making for a while, and Cowboys fans won’t have to worry about Brown in the division anymore.

It turns out Saquon Barkley and Kevin Patullo caused more damage than expected to Brown’s Eagles career. Well, it’s not necessarily Barkley’s fault for being as great as he is, but Patullo’s questionable playcalling clearly got to Brown, and Brown’s frustrations led to a heated confrontation on the sideline with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni in the wild-card loss to the depleted San Francisco 49ers.

Cowboys fans can rest easy after A.J. Brown trade to New England

For Brown, it makes all the sense in the world. He’s getting to reunite with his head coach, Mike Vrabel, from their Tennessee Titans days. The storyline of Vrabel himself is a story for other personal reasons, but the Patriots are getting a three-time Second-team All-Pro and a Super Bowl champion.

Considering New England was in the Super Bowl last season, this may be the championship puzzle New England was missing against the Seattle Seahawks.

The story is that the Cowboys don’t have to worry about Brown anymore, and if we’re going to be honest, Brown had the Cowboys’ secondary frustrated plenty of times. In his eight games against the Cowboys, Brown has completed 44 passes for 593 yards (13.5 yards per catch) and four scores.

The Eagles waited strategically to trade Brown because, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, after 4:01 pm ET (Monday) is when the Eagles can spread out their cap hit over two years instead of one. The Eagles want to save as much money as they can against the cap.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman getting another first-round pick isn’t the most fun detail in the world, but at least Brown is in New England now, and the rest of the NFC East doesn’t have to worry about him.

The Cowboys already have Week 1 scheduled as a night when they have every reason to dominate against the New York Giants due to multiple emergency signings and various injuries. The Brown trade is huge for the Cowboys to get an even stronger chance to take back the NFC East.
