Tottenham’s next summer signing ‘confirmed’ as £60million deal for winger gets done

Tottenham have wasted no time making their mark on the summer transfer window after narrowly escaping relegation. The north London club secured their Premier League survival with a 1-0 victory over Everton, and Roberto De Zerbi has already shifted his attention firmly toward rebuilding for next season.

Spurs are expected to complete the free signings of Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi and Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, with both set to become available when their respective contracts expire next month.

The anticipated double swoop follows De Zerbi’s candid post-match assessment after the Everton win, in which the Italian made clear that sweeping changes would be necessary to drag Tottenham back to the level they expect of themselves. “From tonight, we have to start to organise and to build a new team,” he said. “I think we have now to change too many players. We have 10, 11, 12 players good enough to stay — good enough as players, especially as people. But we have to complete the squad with first-level players, because we suffered too much. I suffered a lot, but I think the fans, the club, the board, the players — they suffered too much. We are Tottenham, and we can’t suffer like this until the last second of the last game to stay up.”

A misfiring attack was among the central problems that dragged Spurs perilously close to the drop. Richarlison, Mathys Tel, Dominic Solanke, and Randal Kolo Muani managed a combined total of just 18 Premier League goals between them — a return that fell well short of what was anticipated from such a talented group. Compounding matters, Dejan Kulusevski missed the entire year through injury, while Mohammed Kudus was sidelined for the final five months of the campaign, leaving successive managers Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor, and De Zerbi severely short of options out wide.

With the window now open, Tottenham are reportedly ready to revive their pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho. According to the Daily Mail, City have slapped a £60 million price tag on the Brazilian — double what they paid Girona for him in 2024. Spurs had made multiple bids for the 22-year-old last summer, only to be rebuffed by Pep Guardiola, who was unwilling to sanction a sale without securing a suitable replacement.

Savinho managed just one league goal in 24 appearances this season, but his electric pace and ability to take on and beat defenders have consistently caught the eye. Comfortable on either flank, his arrival would hand De Zerbi welcome versatility across his attacking line.

Having already shown a willingness to make the move to north London twelve months ago, Savinho now appears ready to finally complete that switch — and with his World Cup hopes dashed after missing out on Brazil’s squad, a fresh start at Spurs could be exactly the spark his career needs.
