The New York Yankees infielder was in an embarrassing predicament during his first at-bat of the game in the second inning. Caballero was digging through his bags, trying to find a helmet while he was due at the plate.
āCabby and I have a love-hate [relationship],āĀ Aaron Boone told reporters at Kauffman Stadium.Ā āI think he was having a hard time finding his helmet, and it cost him a strike there. By the time Caballero reached the batterās box with his helmet, he was already down 0-1 in the count due to a clock violation. Nevertheless, he produced an RBI single from the at-bat to add to the Yankeesā lead. They eventually beat the Royals 4-3 on the night.
