The Texas Rangers have made some roster moves that could shake things up a bit. After their latest game, they decided to send relief pitcher Luis Curvelo back to AAA Round Rock.<\/p>\n

Curvelo had a brief stint in the majors, getting called up just a week ago when the Rangers shuffled their bullpen by sending Gavin Collyer to AAA and placing Chris Martin on the injured list. During his time with the team, Curvelo made three appearances.<\/p>\n

Notably, he pitched a scoreless inning in Sunday\u2019s commanding win, even after a scare on Saturday when he took a comebacker to the leg. It seemed a bit surprising to see him on the mound so soon after that incident, especially with Jakob Junis available and rested since last Tuesday.<\/p>\n

However, with Curvelo heading back to the minors, it made sense for the Rangers to utilize him while they could.<\/p>\n

As for who will fill Curvelo’s spot, the word on the street is that Cole Winn might be stepping in. Winn, who has been on the injured list since May 24, is in the mix to rejoin the team. He recently threw 16 pitches in a rehab outing for Round Rock, and while he’s eligible to be activated today, the Rangers might hold off until tomorrow since they have a day off.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, utility man Sam Haggerty is now a free agent. Haggerty, who was designated for assignment on Friday to make room for Elias Diaz, cleared waivers and has been released.<\/p>\n

He had a solid 2025 season in a platoon role but struggled this year, hitting just .182 against righties and .152 against lefties. With Haggerty out, the Rangers are currently relying on Justin Foscue as their platoon designated hitter and Michael Helman in center field.<\/p>\n

Whether these players are the long-term answer remains to be seen, but for now, they\u2019ll be looking to step up in Haggerty\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
