“The name of the specialist that the Yankees\/Aaron Judge are waiting on is Dr. Gregory Pearl, a team spokesperson said,\u201d according to the New York Daily News\u2019 Gary Phillips. \u201cBased out of Dallas, Pearl ‘has made significant contributions to vascular surgery education and clinical practice, particularly in complex vascular procedures and thoracic outlet syndrome management in high-performance athletes.'”<\/p>\n
The specialist connection has generated attention because of the potential condition involved. The connection to Pearl suggests Judge might be dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS), a somewhat common condition for baseball players, particularly pitchers, that often requires season-ending injury to resolve.<\/p>\n

The timing could hardly be more important for New York.
