The Green Bay Packers are firmly in their Super Bowl window, and after making a major splash by acquiring Micah Parsons before the 2025 season, they appear poised to strike again in 2026.<\/p>\n

Parsons delivered an outstanding performance in his first year with Green Bay, recording 41 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles across just 14 games. His impact earned him All-Pro honors, yet a series of injuries \u2014 most notably Parsons\u2019 torn ACL \u2014 ultimately derailed the Packers\u2019 postseason run. Green Bay\u2019s season came to a disappointing end with a Wild Card Round loss to the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

Now, with expectations remaining sky-high for the upcoming season, the Packers are positioned to be aggressive in pursuit of another significant addition. According to Bleacher Report, Green Bay is among seven teams that should pursue Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Josh Sweat should he become available via trade.<\/p>\n

Acquiring Sweat would immediately provide the Packers with a high-level pass-rushing complement opposite Parsons. In the 2025 season, Sweat posted impressive numbers under Jonathan Gannon in Arizona: 30 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. His reunion with Gannon, now the defensive coordinator in Green Bay, would be a natural and highly effective fit. Sweat\u2019s familiarity with the scheme would allow him to step in as the leader of the pass rush during the early part of the season while Parsons continues his recovery from the ACL injury.<\/p>\n

The timing makes even more sense given Green Bay\u2019s recent roster moves. The Packers traded Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys and allowed Kingsley Enagbare to depart in free agency to the New York Jets. As a result, the edge position now relies heavily on younger talents \u2014 Lukas Van Ness, Barryn Sorrell, Collin Oliver, and rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton \u2014 to take on expanded roles.<\/p>\n

While the Packers have significant money committed to their current roster and important extensions on the horizon, their championship aspirations demand immediate contention.
